"Almost, Maine" Cast Chosen
CLT's 'Almost, Maine' boasts a talented cast of local actors
On February 10, Lewiston-Auburn's Community Little Theatre will open the second production of its 72nd season, ALMOST, MAINE, by Native Maine playwright John Cariani. The powerful cast of eight actors will perform the two-act comedy at CLT's home in the Great Falls Arts Center at 30 Academy Street in Auburn.
The show's director, Katie St. Pierre, recently announced the cast of five women and three men. The cast includes relative newcomers to the CLT stage, Kay Myrick, Chiara Ferrante, Christine Doucette, and Van Beckman. The ensemble also features stage veterans, Roger Philippon, Jason Pelletier, Eileen Messina, and Victoria Machado.
One of CLT's newest directors, St. Pierre (A Christmas Carol, the Musical) noted that this show requires an ensemble cast. "It is a popular comedy that has been performed all over the country, including a successful run at The Public Theatre in 2007," said St. Pierre, "Our talented cast of local actors will be sure to entertain the audience throughout the performance."
On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend-almost-in this delightful midwinter night's dream.
