A NEW HOME
Directed by Paul Caron
*All performances will be at the Lewiston Middle School
A NEW HOME is a musical production that tells the rich and complex history of Lewiston, Maine. Adapted from LEWISTON: A NEW HOME* that was first performed in September 1995 for the Lewiston Bicentennial, this production brings to life the stories of Lewiston’s Indigenous, Franco-American, and African immigrant communities, whose contributions have shaped the city’s identity and culture. The sold-out performances of LEWISTON: A NEW HOME received wide acclaim for the show's musical score and the heartwarming authenticity of its stories. An original cast album was released in December 1995, and the show was performed again to sold-out audiences in 1996. In the thirty years since the original production, major events – both good and tragic - have occurred in Lewiston and are now represented in the musical’s revival to enhance its relevance and historical significance. The L/A Community Little Theatre is proud to present A NEW HOME, with music and lyrics written by the director, Paul G. Caron.
*Adapted from LEWISTON: A NEW HOME by Michael Rosenthal, Richard Martin, and Lynne Geiger, with music and lyrics by Paul G. Caron.

OUR SPONSORS

Community Little Theatre is proud to announce that we have received a grant from the Maine Arts Commission in support of our original production, A NEW HOME. This funding will play a vital role in advancing our commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Specifically, it will support the cost of American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for two performances: the Sunday, November 2nd matinee at 3:00 p.m. and the Saturday, November 8th evening performance at 7:30 p.m.. We are especially grateful for this opportunity to ensure that members of the Deaf and hard of hearing community can fully experience and engage with this production, which seeks to honor and reflect the diverse voices of our community.
